Traditional production mode of Color Masterbatch

          1. Traditional production mode of Color Masterbatch

Most masterbatches are mainly made of powdery pigments. The pigments needed for a single color are fully blended with powdery plastic materials by dispersing additives such as wax, and then dispersed in twin screw extruder, evenly distributed in the plastic materials. Note: The dispersion effect in the twin screw extruder in the laboratory is not necessarily consistent with the actual situation on the production line, so the color value must be checked at the beginning of production and necessary corrections must be made.

          2. Production of colour masterbatches with single component

The production of single color masterbatch is completed in two steps. The first step is to produce single component, and then to produce masterbatch. Dispersion of pigments in plastic raw materials at the highest allowable concentration is called a one-component process. At present, organic pigments with the highest concentration of 40-50% and inorganic pigments with the highest concentration of 75% can be dispersed into plastics by extrusion to obtain good dispersion effect.

Note: Good dispersion quality means that the pigment particles in plastics are very delicate and can achieve the best color penetration. On the other hand, no more than 5 microns of pigment agglomeration is allowed to occur in order to avoid the formation of color spots. The colour adjustment and sampling of single component in the laboratory and the production of master batch are all accomplished by single screw extruder. Because the pigments have been dispersed, different single components need only be melted and blended in a single screw extruder. Because of the same dispersion quality between the laboratory and the actual production, the actual transferability of the color values of raw materials obtained in the laboratory can be guaranteed in the actual production.

          3. Cost factors of extrusion production

The cost of extrusion production depends on the type and size of the machine used and the size of the processing batch.
